Author Guidelines

Articles submitted to the journal must adhere to the following rules:

  1. Submitted materials must comply with publication ethics and follow the journal style sheet.
  2. Manuscripts are submitted through the indo-iranian.org website. To do this, registration on the journal's website is required.
  3. Non-standard fonts and illustrations, if used, must be included with the manuscript. A .pdf file must be provided along with the source file (.doc(x)).
  4. The paper text and metadata must not contain author information.
  5. Papers in Russian or English are accepted; the text must adhere to scholarly style and, if necessary, be proofread by a native speaker.
  6. Previously published materials or those submitted to other journals will not be accepted, as well as materials that do not correspond to the journal's thematic focus and formatting rules.
  7. Authors of accepted articles must sign a copyright transfer agreement (after the editorial board's decision).

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submitted materials must adhere to the following requirements:

  • The material complies with the guidelines for authors.
  • The material has not previously been published and is not under consideration by another journal.
  • The manuscript adheres to the journal style sheet.
  • Uploaded files must be completely anonymous.

Research articles

Research articles should consist of original research on the journal's topic. The recommended length of the article is from 15,000 to 60,000 characters with spaces (including abstract, main text, and references).

Book reviews

Book reviews should critically examine recent linguistic literature related to Indo-Iranian languages in some way. The length of the review should not exceed 20,000 characters including spaces (excluding the bibliography/sources and metadata). We do not accept reviews that have conflicts of interest with the author of the reviewed publication, as well as simple summaries of content.

We ask that you contact the IIL editorial team before starting work on the review. Without prior approval, the review may not be considered for publication.
